I Edel Jakobsdatter, widow of Mr. Barnim Eriksen, knight, announce to all who see this letter or hear it read that I acknowledge that I and my heirs by lawful debt are indebted to the honourable man, present postman Sten Basse of Tybjerg, my dear second cousin, and his heirs 600 worth of marks in such money and coin, which are valid and common in Lübeck, and which one merchant can pay the other by, paying in full until now forthcoming St. Michael's Day. For what money I with this letter pledge him my farm Uglerup in Hørby parish in Tuse herred together with all my estate in the same town, which is six bol of land with all their adjoining fields, meadow, forest and fishing water, wet and dry, mobile and immovable without exception with a windmill and a mill-place at the same place on the condition that he and his heirs shall each year bear the crop and the land guild of the said farm and estate to use for their benefit, both the year in which it is redeemed and the others years, and without it being deducted from the principal of the debt when the goods are redeemed.
