Queen Margrete I's letter for Bishop Jon of Oslo, dated January 14, 1385

In this letter, Margrete submits to Bishop Jon of Oslo lifetime exemption for his estate at Folkestad in Vettaherad (Ranrike) for all management, tax and customs, except thegngilde, peace purchase, breach of letter and indemnity.

The letter:

Margareta medh guds nadh Noregs ok Swyarikis drothnengh sænder allum mannum þæim sæm þetta bref sea eder høyra quædiu guðs ok sina. Ver gerom yder [kunnikt], at ver hafwm till gefuet hederleghom herra varom godom vin herra Jone [medh guds] nad biskupi [j Os]lo. hans landboo a Folkastadhom j Skædiofs sokn i Vetta heradhe [þæim sæm] þar nu a [byr] eder framlæydis kunnæ till koma. friælse ok quittæ bæde [um haust]leidang, waar læidang ok vttfara læidang. ok alla adra skatta. tolla .... vndanskildom þægngildom fridkaupom brefua brotom ok vbota malom. Vilium ver ok at fyrnæmdir landboor verde niotande alz þes friælses [ok] allra þæira naadha sæm varer ok varra handgængna mannæ þienarer haf[ua] ok niotandæ ero j vaarom lenom ok ifuir vældi.
