Joan of England (born July 22, 1210, died March 4, 1238) was queen consort of Scotland from 1221 until her death. She was the third child of King John of England and Isabella of Angoulême.

In this letter, likely written in March 1224, the fourteen year old Joan writes to her brother, King Henry III of England, and mentions as a rumour that the King of Norway will come to Ireland in summer to help the rebel Hugo de Lascelles.

The letter:

Henrico, Dei gratia illustri regi Anglie, domino Hibernie, duci Normannie et Aquitannie, comiti Andegavie, venerabili domino et carissimo fratri suo, J[oanna] eadem gratia regina Scotie, salutem, et felices ad vota successus. Literas quas nobis destinavit vestra excellentia cum magno gaudia suscepimus, sicut decuit, apud.. on' die Mercurii ante Annunciationem B. Marie. Valete.
